
Born and raised in Salt Lake County, Norman W. Peat, Jr., brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his legal practice at Utah Law, P.C. A proud veteran, Norman served four years in the United States Navy as a Master-at-Arms, earning an Honorable Discharge. He continued his commitment to public service as a police officer with the Salt Lake City Police Department and as a corrections officer with the Utah Department of Corrections before transitioning to a distinguished legal career.
Norman earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Utah in 2015 and his Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2019. During law school, he excelled academically, receiving CALI Excellence Awards in Tax Gifts & Estate Planning and Advanced Legal Research, as well as the Dean’s Honor Scholarship. His early legal experience included clerking for the Honorable Julie McKay at Spokane Superior Court, where he gained insight into judicial processes, and working at the University Legal Assistance Elder Law Clinic, where he assisted indigent senior citizens with estate planning.
As an Associate Attorney at Heideman & Associates from 2021 to 2025, Norman managed a diverse caseload, specializing in estate planning, probate, government immunity litigation, and contract disputes. He drafted tailored wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, administered probate cases, and litigated complex cases with an 85% pre-trial resolution rate. His client-focused approach and legal acumen earned him recognition as a 2022 Legal Elite.
Norman’s unique background, including his prior role as a Customer Solutions Agent at eBay, where he saved over $40 million in revenue through sales dispute investigations, equips him to navigate complex legal and financial challenges with precision and care. Admitted to the Utah State Bar and the Utah Supreme Court in 2021, he is an active member of the Utah State Bar and a dedicated volunteer at the Veterans Will Clinic.
